Grupo Hespérides Biotech S.L. is a technology based company which focuses its activity on the development of innovative food and beverages - with no presence in market - which are obtained through the biotechnological conversion of basic raw materials (fruits, vegetables, milk, etc.). These aim at meeting niche markets needs previously detected. The company complements its activity with technological services - full development of products aimed at complementing creativity or offering the possibility of internationalizing our RTD - to companies within the agrofood industry. Besides, Grupo Hespérides performs analytical services on food and agriculture intended to the improvement of agriculture and of quality controls - analysis on leafs, waters and soils. Also microbiological, phytopathogenic and heavy metal analysis -.
In 2011, Grupo Hespérides will expand their services, offering quality control analysis on food products based on the detection of pesticide residues (phytosanitary).
The company is capable of combining their market knowledge, their view towards the customer and their technology; with the knowledge generated by the university, in order to develop products in cooperation.
Grupo Hespérides has expertise in the development of products, such as the first low alcohol beverage (2.5% alc./vol.) through orange juice fermentation. At present, the company is doing research on the evaluation of the potential healthy and functional characteristics of the product.
All in all, Grupo Hespérides is capable of listening to the market and of meeting the needs of this, through high-quality RTD collaborations with research groups when necessary. This allows the company to meet the customers’ needs, both by complementing their technological capability (not leading companies or cooperatives) or their creativity (leading companies), offering innovation to meet the needs of a very demanding society.
