Lesion Load
We process multimodal images in order to detect the white matter lesion load level for individuals with potential multiple sclerosis.
Given a multimodal MRI study, determine those areas of the image that correspond to lesions in the
cerebral white matter (WM). These areas are classified as "mild - moderate lesion load" and "extreme
lesion load." It is studied in overall the lesional damage at 136 white matter regions, established by the use
of standard anatomical atlas.
In the generated report, these 136 WM regions are presented, together with
the data for mild - moderate and extreme lesion load, volume of the region
and percentage of the region occupied by lesion load.
Study types
Besides a single study, from a series of studies of the same individual, we can establish:
•Volumetric changes in each of the 136 WM regions.
•Changes in the level of lesion load for each region considered.
This type of longitudinal study is especially suited and designed for the objectification and quantification of therapy effectiveness.
In addition, poblational studies can be conducted, comparing therapy with control groups.
